Staff and Governors at The Children's Hospital School at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and University College Hospital (UCH) are a highly committed and experienced team of qualified teachers, teaching assistants and support staff as well as representatives of each hospital and the wider community.
Our staff has experience teaching in a wide variety of educational settings including mainstream nurseries, primary and secondary schools; special schools; international schools; PRUs and other hospital and medical needs settings. Our teachers are able to conduct holistic assessments of pupils upon entry and are experienced in providing support to enable successful reintegration back to home schools and other settings on discharge.
There is an annual programme of continuing professional development to keep staff up-to-date with local and national developments in education and we receive regular training from NHS teams to develop our knowledge of how medical treatments and conditions may impact learning.
